Eating large or frequent portions of fried or highly processed foods often can increase your risk for constipation. Constipation occurs when your bowel movements become less frequent and stools become difficult to pass.³,⁶

Processed grain such as white bread, white rice and white pasta are low in fibre and may also cause constipation. Constipation can be uncomfortable and painful, and you may also experience bloating and gassiness.³

Occasional overeating or overindulgence can cause stomach pain and indigestion. Indigestion is pain or discomfort after eating, while your stomach is digesting food.¹,⁴

You may also experience gassiness which is a result of your body digesting the foods you eat or beverages you drink. Gassiness can be uncomfortable or embarrassing.¹,⁵
